CHOW CHOW Recipe
1 qt. fresh cabbage
1 pint green pepper
1 pint onions
4 c. sugar
5 Tbsp. salt
1 quart vinegar
Chop cabbage, onions and green peppers. Mix vinegar, salt
and sugar. Pour over chopped ingredients. Let stand for 2 - 3
hours. Bring just to a boil and put into jars and seal. (Can add
celery seed or mustard seed just before heating, if desired.)
Chow Chow is usually served with pinto beans and corn bread.
It can also be used as a topping for hot dogs.
